HP V1405 series devices are plug-and-play unmanaged fixed-configuration Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Layer 2 switches designed for small and midsize businesses looking for entry-level, low-cost networking. Series models include rack-mountable 16- and 24-port Gigabit switches; rack-mountable 16-, 24-, and 24+2 Fast Ethernet switches; desktop office environment 5- and 8-port Gigabit and Fast Ethernet switches; and desktop compact 5-, 8-, and 16-port Gigabit and Fast Ethernet switches.
These unmanaged switches are preconfigured for fast, easy installation, with connections using low-cost Ethernet copper cabling. They support administration-friendly features such as autonegotiated port speed and automatic detection of the Ethernet cable type (MDI/MDIX).
